On May 15, 2026, the “Chinese Bridge” Chinese Show for Primary School Students was hosted by the Chinese Embassy in Antigua and Barbuda and organized by the Confucius Institute of Antigua and Barbuda (CIAB) in St. John’s. Chinese and Local Directors of CIAB, teachers and students from New Bethel SDA Academy, Tabernacle Academy, Post Millennial Academy and other local schools as well as Chinese language enthusiasts attended the event.

The competition consisted of three sessions: Chinese speech, Q&A and talent show. The event was also interspersed with children’s choruses of songs such as Flying Fireflies and Chinese number-guessing games. With solid Chinese proficiency and wonderful performances of songs, dances and musical instrument playing, the contestants won rounds of applause. The venue was filled with a warm and joyful atmosphere amid constant laughter and cheers.
