On February 2, 2026, Ambassador Jiang Wei visited the University of the West Indies (UWI) Five Islands Campus, and exchanged views with the campus principal Professor Justin Robinson on deepening educational cooperation between China and Antigua and Barbuda.

Jiang stated that educational cooperation serves as a crucial bond to promote cultural exchanges and enhance people-to-people ties. China is willing to make joint efforts with the Five Islands Campus for more effective cooperation in areas such as Chinese language education, interscholastic exchanges, and mutual visits of young talents, breathing new life into the traditional friendship between the two countries.
Robinson thanked China for its long-term strong support to the Campus, and expressed the hope of learning from China's experience in professional technology innovation and talent cultivation so as to build a more solid platform for educational cooperation and people-to-people exchanges between the two countries.
Ambassador Jiang also visited the teaching buildings, gymnasium, and the Confucius Institute, etc.
The Five Islands Campus is the fourth main campus of the UWI in the Caribbean. Currently, the campus has over 1,500 students and offers more than 40 majors. The main buildings were constructed with the aid of the Chinese government in 2013. The Confucius Institute of Antigua and Barbuda is located on this campus.
