Chinese Embassy in Antigua and Barbuda Held a Reception upon Assumption of Duty for H.E Jiang Wei the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to Antigua and Barbuda

On December 16, 2025, Chinese Embassy in Antigua and Barbuda hosted a reception upon the assumption of duty for H.E. Jiang Wei, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to Antigua and Barbuda. H.E. Sir Rodney Williams, Governor General of Antigua and Barbudaand Foreign Minister the Hon. E.P. Chet Greeneattended the event and delivered remarks. OppositionLeader Jamale Pringle, Minister of Tourism the Hon. Charles Fernandez, Minister of Education the Hon. Daryll Matthew, Minister of Urban and Social Transformation the Hon. Rawdon Turner, along with more than 100 guests from all sectorsof society,including senior government officials, members of the diplomatic corps, representatives of Chineseenterprises, as well as overseas Chinesein Antigua and Barbudawere present at the reception.

Ambassador Jiang addressed that Antigua and Barbuda is a good friend and good partner of China in the Caribbean region. Since the establishment of diplomatic relations, under the strategic guidance of the leaders ofboth countries, China-Antigua and Barbuda relations have been developed substantially, with fruitful outcomes in cooperation across all sectors.The Recommendations of the CPC Central Committee for Formulating the 15th Five-Year Plan for Economic and Social Developmentand the recently released Chinas Policy Paper on Latin America and the Caribbeanwill provide broader opportunities for the future development of China-Antigua and Barbuda relations. And she looked forward to working with the government and all sectors of society in Antigua and Barbuda to carry forward traditional friendship, consolidate political mutual trust, deepen practical cooperation, deliver more outcomes for China-Antigua and Barbuda relations, and bring greater benefits to the two peoples.
