On November 27, 2025, Her Excellency Jiang Wei, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Antigua and Barbuda, paid a courtesy call on Hon. Charles Fernandez, Minister of Tourism, Civil Aviation, Transportation and Investments of Antigua and Barbuda. The two sides exchanged views on deepening China-Antigua and Barbuda tourism cooperation, people-to-people and cultural exchanges and other related matters.

Ambassador Jiang noted that traditional friendship between the two countries have a profound traditional friendship, serving as a model of equal treatment and mutually beneficial cooperation between countries of different sizes. Both sides possess rich cultural and tourism resources and enjoy broad prospects for cooperation. China is ready to work together with Antigua and Barbuda to fully leverage the positive role of tourism in boosting economic development and promoting mutual learning among civilizations, continuously expand bilateral exchanges and cooperation in tourism,people-to-people and cultural fields, and deepen the mutual understanding and friendship between the two peoples.

Minister Fernandez welcomed Ambassador Jiang to assume her new post, spoke highly of the bilateral relations and traditional friendship and stated that Antigua and Barbuda attaches great importance to deepening tourism cooperation with China, looks forward to the arrival of more Chinese tourists, and is ready to work with China to explore more cooperation opportunities and inject new impetus into the development of bilateral relations.
