On November 24, 2025, Her Excellency Jiang Wei, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Antigua and Barbuda, presented her credentials to His Excellency Sir Rodney Williams, Governor General of Antigua and Barbuda .

Ambassador Jiang addressed that Antigua and Barbuda is a good friend and good partner of China in the Caribbean region. China-Antigua and Barbuda relations have made significant headway thanks to the personal commitment and push of the leaders of both countries. China stands ready to work with Antigua and Barbuda to fully expand pragmatic bilateral cooperation under the high-quality Belt and Road cooperation framework of, enhance coordination and collaboration on international and regional affairs, open up new prospects in the friendly relations between the two countries.

Sir Rodney Williams congratulated Ambassador Jiang on taking up her new post and highlighted that Antigua and Barbuda was among the earlier nations to recognize the People’s Republic of China and has benefited significantly from more than four decades of uninterrupted cooperation. He reaffirmed Antigua and Barbuda’s commitment to adhering to the One-China principle, and the commitment to deepening cooperation and continuing traditional friendship of the two countries.
