On November 21, 2025, Her Excellency Jiang Wei, the new Chinese Ambassador to Antigua and Barbuda, arrived in the country to assume her post. Director General Mrs Ann-Marie Layne and Chief of Protocol Ms Sherese George from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Antigua and Barbuda greeted Ambassador Jiang upon her arrival at the airport.

Ambassador Jiang thanked the Government of Antigua and Barbuda for the warm reception and thoughtful arrangements, stated that it is a great pleasure to work as the Chinese Ambassador to this beautiful country，and she stands ready to work with the government of Antigua and Barbuda and all sectors of society to advance China-Antigua and Barbuda relations to a new level.

Mrs Layne warmly welcomed Ambassador Jiang to assume her new post, and expressed that Antigua and Barbuda attaches great importance to developing relations with China and will fully support Ambassador Jiang in performing her duties.
