On July 25th, H.E. Ren Gongping, Ambassador of the People's Republic of China and Mme. Yan Fenglan called on H.E Dame Louise Lake-Tack, Governor General of Antigua and Barbuda.

    Ambassador Ren expressed his appreciates to Governor General for the great importance attached by Her Excellency to the bilateral relations. He said that the friendship between China and Antigua and Barbuda relied on the exchange and interactions of the two peoples. Antigua and Barbuda enjoyed a dynamic and prosperous culture. In the up-coming Carnival, the Chinese companies in Antigua and local Chinese community would organize a troupe to join the parade and add a sense of Chinese breeze to the great summer event. Ambassador Ren hoped that he could work with Governor General to push forward the friendship to a new high.

    Governor General Dame Lake-Tack recalled her visit to China in April. She stressed that the cooperation between China and Antigua and Barbuda has indeed benefited local people and sincerely hopes the traditional friendship which lasted for 30 years between the two nations will be even stronger.

    Ambassador Ren also introduced to Her Excellency that the Henan Cultural Performing Arts Group, which would perform a martial art and acrobatic show at Dean William Lake Cultural Centre on August 13th, and invited her to join the show.
